Tees Valley Combined Authority - Visit to Wardley Biogas Plant

Peter Moody of GAP Group NE  was delighted to receive Peter Shields of Tees Valley Combined Authority and to provide a tour of our Biogas Plant.

These visits are great eye openers for anyone who hasn't visited a Waste Anaerobic Digestion Plant before, to see the entire operation from receipt of packaged waste, the packaging and organics separation and the feeding to the Digesters.

Our packaging waste is sent to Teesside for disposal at the Haverton Hill EfW (Energy from Waste) Plant, the organic waste is converted into renewable energy in the form of both Green Electricity and Green Gas, and the liquid material remaining after the energy is removed, at this site is PAS110 Quality Biofertiliser, which is spread on local agricultural land, to encourage the next period of growth.

A perfect example of a circular economy.
